Flip The Record

Tired of conforming to what is expected, 14-year-old Vanessa dares to break the mold by learning the art of turntablism behind her older brother’s back. Set in the early 1980s in the era of hip-hop’s game-changing influence within the Filipino-American community, FLIP THE RECORD is a coming-of-age story about a teenager realizing that in order to “flip” the narrative, you must dare to play to the sound of your own beat.

BANDWAGON

“Award-winning director Marie Jamora, known for her music videos and first full-length movie Ang Nawawala (What Isn’t There) is back with another music-inspired film.”

uDOu

“Since its limited release in April, Marie Jamora and her crew have been jumping from state to state, country to country for their short film “Flip The Record.” Many draw comparisons to the Netflix original “The Get Down” but we’re here to tell you that “Flip The Record” is in a league of its own.”
